Legendary California burger joint In-N-Out is doing a pop-up in KL tomorrow

Burger lovers, Californiaphiles, and those who appreciate the post-Tupac era of East coast versus West coast rivalry but in the burger form of Shake Shack versus In-N-Out: Have we got news for you.

The Cali staple, and first stop down Sepulveda after you land at LAX, In-N-Out Burger will be making a very special appearance for one day only, in Kuala Lumpur.

What have we done to deserve such blessings? It’s best not to ask ourselves too many questions and just get down to business: eating burgers.

Strangers at 47 in the Section 17 part of PJ will be hosting the In-N-Out pop-up, set to run from 11am to 3pm, or more appropriately – while supplies last. As the flyer says, first come, first serve.

The limited menu will feature three of the chain’s most popular burgers: the Double-Double, the Animal Style and the Protein Style.

We here at Coconuts KL lived in Los Angeles when we were a young coconut, and will give you a brief description, along with our personal recommendation.

Double-Double: toasted buns, two beef patties, two slices of American cheese, onions (sliced or grilled), lettuce, tomato, and that special spread (kinda Thousand Islands dressing vibes).

Our review: Not bad at all, but perhaps the pick of the more purist among us.

Pro tips: Grilled onions for sure, and skip the tomato.

Animal Style:  toasted buns, burger of your choice cooked in mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, extra spread

Our review: Yes. This one. Always.

Pro tips: Get Double-Double, and make it Animal Style.  The only thing you need more in life is a strawberry milkshake.

Protein Style: Regular burger but with no bun, and lettuce used to wrap

Pro tips: A very LA choice, and one that we’ve had with no complaints… but there’s nothing like the real thing. If you do go with this, get it Protein Style, Animal Style.

There you have it. We’ll see you in the queue.
