Lee Chong Wei’s doping hearing set for next month

Badminton ace Lee Chong Wei’s doping case will be heard on April 11 in Amsterdam.

The New Straits Times’s Ajitpal Singh quotes Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) deputy president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria as saying that a three-man panel from the Badminton World Federation would preside.

“Chong Wei’s lawyer Mike Morgan will hand in the player’s submission on April 11 and they will deliberate on it. A decision could be made on the same day or at the most within three days,” Norza told the NST.

World number one Lee, 32, faces a two-year ban if found guilty of using the banned dexamethasone at the World Championships in Copenhagen last year.
