LDP contra-flow lane to be made permanent after six-month trial

The northbound contra-flow lane on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) will be made permanent.

The Star Online reports that after a six-month trial, highway concessionaire Lingkaran Trans Kota (Litrak) has decided to make it stay in order to improve congestion during morning rush hour traffic.

The contra-flow begins at Puchong Jaya’s IOI Mall and stretches 4km to the Petaling Jaya toll plaza.

“The main aim for the northbound contra-flow in the morning is to improve traffic and manage its flow, especially since this toll plaza is massively congested during morning peak hours,” Litrak CEO Sazally Said told the portal.

He further stated that the main reason for traffic to build up in the area was vehicle spillover from the Federal Highway at the Motorola Interchange.
