Looking for something to do this weekend, but already seen Black Panther twice? Look no further than the latest offering from local cinema released just yesterday, Get Hard Tongkat Ali.

If you’re thinking that the title might be lost in translation, worry not – your inner 13-year-old instinct was right – this is a film about a struggling to overcome his erectile dysfunction.
Director Chan Wei Cheong introduces us to our leading man, Wen Hu, who by all intents and purposes, seems like “Mr. Perfect.” He’s handsome, young, energetic and “masculine” – but suffering from a crippling secret – he just can’t seem to “get hard.” GEDDIT?!
So, it’s like a parallel world where neither Cialis, nor Viagra exist? Got. it. Tell me more.
Plot twist: He has 30 days to sort out Mr. Floppy, as he needs to propose to the girlfriend his mother is forcing him to marry. Why? Oh, the Mum believes that their matrimony will break a terrible pox that has fallen upon her, and she will recover from her illness.
Playing at 40 screens across the country this weekend, with subtitles in English, Malay and Chinese, Coconuts KL will see you at the cinema.
We can’t judge a book by its cover, even if we are throwing major shade at its plot, so we are signing up to watch and review this.
You’re welcome.
