A father-daughter duo from Malaysia today got the attention of American rock band Rage Against The Machine for their adorable cover of iconic hit Killing In The Name Of.

The recording of the performance by Ujang Ijon and his daughter Audrey was posted to YouTube yesterday and appeared on guitarist Tom Morello’s Twitter account around 4am today with the caption “Preach sister preach.”

In a two-minute snippet, star Audrey inhabits the rage and fury of former vocalist Zack de la Rocha, as she squeaks out the anti-establishment early ‘90s anthem.

“Some of tro en da forces are da same in corsets,” is a pretty spot-on update to the original “Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses,” as sung by Audrey while her proud father strums on.

With an “Arrggghhh!” she proves the future generation is ready to uncork its fury at the world’s persistent injustices. It ends before we find out if Audrey made good on the song’s frenzied, profanity-heavy coda.

Morello had been tagged when the clip was tweeted last night by Indonesian band Head Crusher. It was then retweeted by the guitarist of the ‘90s Los Angeles band prompting thousands to follow suit.

According to Ujang’s Facebook page, he is a musician from Labuan in Borneo. He did not immediately respond to a message from Coconuts KL seeking comment. He also posted the video to Facebook, where it has been shared 60,000 times.

On his YouTube page, the video caption said that he had recorded the performance with his daughter while hanging out with his children at home. He didn’t say how old Audrey was.

Rage Against The Machine was formed in 1991 and disbanded in 2000 following the departure of De La Rocha. They announced a reunion last year.
