Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s (KTM) Komuter service are currently experiencing interruptions due to a broken rail switch at the Kuala Lumpur station.
Speaking to Bernama, KTMB’s head of corporate communication Ridwan Arshad said the rail switch broke at the main hub and caused the service to be interrupted across the board.
“We got to know about it at about 7 am (peak hour) and repair work is in progress.
“As a result of the damage, the KTMB service is only using one lane and therefore, the service will be delayed for 20 to 30 minutes,” he said.
Ridwan also denied that the train delays were cause by a broken railway track, as had been claimed by some quarters.
Speaking for the company, Ridwan offered an apology to all Komuter customers for the inconvenience caused by the disruption.
