A staff member was injured after two Molotov cocktails were thrown inside DK Club Kota Damansara yesterday afternoon, as staff at the nightclub were preparing for the evening service.
The victim, a Bangladeshi national in his 30s known as Sujan, suffered burns to his head and hands, according to New Straits Times.
The attack occurred after two men approached the bar in a black Audi, which is located at Encorp Strand Garden Office, and threw two Molotovs cocktails tied with firecrackers at workers near the entrance. Only one exploded.
Police report that they have ruled out terrorism, and have instead surmised that the attack was part of a business-related extortion, with gangsters retaliating for lack of payment over protection money. The establishment had been threatened before.
The victim is recovering in Sungai Buloh Hospital.
The bar, true to form, posted on their Facebook page that the club was open as usual, explosive attacks notwithstanding.
