KL-ites: How well do you know your city?

Presented by

Have you looked out the window lately? With the construction going on across the city, it might be hard to recognize the KL we all know and love. But certain features will always stand out as city icons, no matter what’s happening around them.

Indeed, KL is a sprawling city that’s grown immensely in population and in influence. And we’re not just talking about Entrapment. Although thanks to Sean Connery, movie buffs around the world now recognize at least two important KL buildings.

But seriously, the iconic shape of the Petronas Towers defines the KL skyline and their towering presence will always have a place in our hearts. (Awww.) But there’s so much more to KL than these magnificent twin towers. There are beautiful structures and historic buildings so familiar, that even locals might not realize their significance.

Some say this centrally located building is the last remaining evidence of Mughal architecture in KL. Do you recognize it?

But how long has it been since you’ve spent a whole afternoon exploring the city on foot? Getting lost wandering through familiar streets?

Eating charsiew wantan mee at Petaling Street and letting the sights and smells take you back to your childhood, or relaxing on the grass in front of the Petronas Towers, looking up and imagining what it would be like to see them for the first time?

Have you ever stopped to marvel at this temple’s six tiers? This Chinese temple dedicated to the Goddess Tian Hou, or Heavenly Mother, was officially opened in 1989.

Ok nostalgia aside, sometimes we do take our own city for granted. Sure it’s really hip to travel to random little cities in Europe, but how about our own random little city right here?

How well do you know KL? Test your knowledge and find out. Then go walk around and eat some sental satay with ketupat while you appreciate our fair city.

Ready to really get to know the Malaysian capital? Located in the heart of Bukit Bintang, book a comfortable room or suite at PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur and explore the city’s vibrant sights and sounds, right on your doorstep.
