The PDRM has arrested a Kuala Lumpur police officer on suspicion of aiding and abetting one of Kelantan’s biggest drug syndicates.
Investigators believe the suspect, a corporal stationed in KL, had been providing inside information on impending police raids in Kelantan to his contacts in the syndicate.
The suspect was said to have been the “link man” for the syndicate for about a year, during which it received his help in distributing syabu, ecstasy pills and yaba.
The Star Online reports that also arrested were the corporal’s accomplices – two Thais and four locals – who were allegedly involved in transporting and distributing the drugs to Kuala Lumpur connects from the transit point in Kelantan.
The corporal and two of his accomplices were arrested in Kuala Lumpur, while the others were nabbed in a raid in Kelantan. The raid also resulted in the seizure of 19.31kg of syabu,6,969 yaba pills, 15 ecstasy pills and 1.73kg of ketamine worth about RM3 million. Police also confiscated assets, including luxury cars, valued over RM1 million.
