KL car thieves chill out and play poker, get arrested (duh)

One thing to keep in mind when being a real-life criminal: you can’t just hang out and play cards after pulling off a few jobs like it’s GTA V Online

A four-person car theft syndicate did just that, and ended up getting arrested. The four – two men and two women – suspected of having stolen at least three cars over the past year, were found playing a game of poker in the hotel room of one of the gang members in Bandar Sri Menjalara, Damansara.

Sentul district police chief ACP R Munusamy told the New Straits Times Online that the bust was the result of an hours-long stakeout.

“Police discovered two sets of keys believed to be of the stolen vehicles. After questioning the suspects, one of them led the police to a parking lot near the hotel.

“Police found a Proton Waja and a Suzuki Swift, with the chassis number scratched off,” he said.

Raiding officers also found a Mitsubishi Grandis at the home of one of the suspects in Cheras.

All three vehicles are believed to have been stolen between January and November last year.
