A durian seller in Penang was killed when one of his customers attacked him with a knife on Thursday.
According to The Star Online, Ong Ting San, 61, was stabbed multiple times near his durian stall in Taman Sri Kijang at 5.15pm.
The reason?
The customer was not happy with the quality of the durians he bought from the victim.
Penang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain told the news portal that the suspect, a 60-year-old man, allegedly grabbed a knife from the stall and attacked the victim, who reportedly ran for his life to a nearby house with the suspect hot behind his trail.
ACP Razaruddin said the suspect turned himself in at the Seberang Prai police headquarters 20 hours after the incident.
“He told us that he had an argument with the victim as he was dissatisfied with the durians that he had bought,” he was quoted as saying.
He added that the police have recovered the knife at the porch of the house, and the suspect has been detained to facilitate investigations.
The case is reportedly being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
