Kind-hearted Johor motorcyclist sweeps road so that others don’t fall

Not wanting other motorcyclists to suffer from the same fate, a kind-hearted motorcyclist has voluntarily swept part of a road leading up to his village.

In a Sin Chew Daily report, translated by The Star Online, the man identified as 58-year-old Chen Chang Rong from Kampung Tengah in Segamat, Johor, reportedly lost control of his motorbike when he rode over a section of the road covered with sand and stones a couple of days ago.

As a result of the fall, Chen reportedly suffered injuries to his nose and left eyebrow.

According to the Chinese daily, Chen then took matters into his own hands; borrowing a broom and a dustpan from a nearby coffeeshop, he started sweeping the road at around 1pm on Sunday.

Chen reportedly got a little help from another motorcyclist known as Tong, who reportedly stopped by the side of the road to alert motorists of Chen’s presence.

Chen later told Sin Chew Daily that although those who are familiar with the road know how to avoid that section of the road, he felt it was better to remove the debris once and for all so that no other motorcyclists would slip and fall just like he did.

Faith in humanity restored.
