A kayak instructor was reportedly charged today at the magistrate’s court in Kampar with allowing his bank account to be used for terrorism-related activities.
According to a report by The Star Online, the 22-year-old Mohamad Jazrin Mohamad Azaha was accused of providing “financial services” to a terrorist by the name of Muhammad Wanndy Mohamed Jedi, 26, by allowing his RHB Bank account to be used for withdrawal and deposit purposes.
The offence was allegedly committed between January and February this year, the news site said.
Mohamad Jazrin, of Kampung Sungai Itek in Gopeng, reportedly nodded when the charge was read out. However, no plea was recorded.
If convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of 20 years or fine.
