JPJ expects bids for this new Putrajaya number plate to exceed RM1mil

Just how popular is the new ‘F1’ registration number?

Bidding for this number plate is likely to go past RM1mil, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) expects.

“So far, the most expensive vehicle registration number ever bought was “W1N” at RM746,000 and the “F1” number plate is expected to exceed RM1mil,” The Star Online quotes department director-general Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad as saying.

He told the news site that the bidding process for the ‘F’ number plate — designated for vehicles registered in Putrajaya — which began last month, would end on Tuesday.

Tender for registration numbers for Kuala Lumpur which start with ‘V’ would begin on July 15 until the end of the month, The Star reported.

In May, the government announced that new registration numbers for the federal territories of Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur would start with the letters ‘F’ and ‘V’ respectively.
