A house owner in Tangkak, Johor had the shock of his life when he discovered chopped up body parts in the compound of his house on Sunday.
According to a report by The New Straits Times, the man reportedly made the gory discovery at around 3.15pm.
Tangkak district police chief Superintendent Mohad Idris Samsuri told the daily that the house owner immediately alerted the police after he found a severed foot in the compound of his Kampung Kesang Laut home.
Supt Mohad Idris said after combing the area, the police reportedly found five plastic bags containing body parts hidden in a drain near the house’s parking lot.
The police reportedly found the victim’s head buried in the ground near the house.
“The victim is believed to be a male youth who may have been murdered at another location.
“Based on the condition of his remains, he may have been murdered three days ago,” Supt Mohad Idris was quoted as saying.
He added that a 19-year-old youth was arrested an hour after the police were alerted to the crime.
Meanwhile, Malay daily Harian Metro reported that the victim, believed to have been murdered due to jealousy, was not from the village.
The police are currently investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
