Two days after being banned from Singapore, two controversial preachers get banned from Johor

Johor’s crusade to keep divisive messages out of the state continues, and the state’s Islamic Religious Affairs Committee confirmed that the Sultan has just banned two speakers who are said to incite religious and racial unrest with their speeches.

Zimbabwean Mufti Ismail Menk and Malaysian Haslin Baharim will have to take their hate- mongering messages elsewhere, because Johor is not having any of it. The two had previously been banned from speaking in Singapore for similar reasons.

Same goes for you, Haslin Baharim

“The content of their previous speeches appear to promote racial and religious unrest, which disrupts harmony between the races,” said the committee chairman Abdul Mutalip to Berita Harian. He added that they will continue to monitor religious talks, and vet the messages that are being promulgated.

Don’t cry, just yet! The two will still be making an appearance and serving up cups of their hatorade on an Islamic Cruise (yes, actually a thing) that travels from Singapore to Aceh on November 25. Y’all, this looks like a total sausage-fest
