A man was killed in a grisly accident after attempting to cross the East-West Link Expressway in Taman Connaught last night.
The Star Online’s Nicholas Cheng, reports that the man ended up having a Perodua Myvi crash into him, causing him to be thrown onto the middle lane where another vehicle, a Honda Accord ran over him.
He was reportedly dragged about 100 metres. According to police, the man’s body had been so badly injured that it could not be identified.
The report said that there was an overhead bridge just a few metres away from where the man attempted to cross.
The report quoted KL staff officer for traffic investigation and regulation Deputy Supt Markandan Subramaniam as saying that driver of the Perodua could not brake on time as the victim had run onto the road so suddenly.
“Then there was a Toyota Vios also travelling towards the spot in the middle lane. The driver swerved to avoid the accidents, but lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the highway road divider,” he was quoted as saying.
Drivers of all three cars escaped unhurt.
