A brand new connecting road between Jalan Harapan (Jalan 17/47) and Jalan Damansara will be open to traffic by the end of next month.
After several pauses in construction work — largely due to a condominium and sewerage upgrading works — the project is finally near completion.
The Star Online quotes Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) public relations officer Zainun Zakaria as saying that the project was supposed to have wrapped up by the end of September.
Citing unforeseen circumstances, Zainun told the portal that MBPJ contractors are now back on track with the job.
“Once the private land acquisition is finalised, we will complete the construction and do the necessary road upgrade works,” she said.
This stretch is expected to make way to smoother traffic for those coming from Jalan University and nearby areas such as Section 17, she added.
