You probably wouldn’t associate blood and gore with gardening.
But the case of one 68-year-old man in Klang might make you start thinking otherwise. Ng Ah Eng decided to prune plants in his house compound in Jalan Alor Star, off Jalan Kapar over the weekend when he slipped from the ladder…landing right onto the iron fencing rod, The Star Online’s Wani Muthiah reports.
Close call. The fence had reportedly pierced through his armpit, narrowly missing his chest.
Quoting Sungai Pinang fire station Senior Fire Officer II M. Sathiaseelan, the portal said that Ng’s neighbour called the Fire and Rescue Department at 4.40pm yesterday. The team arrived in 5 minutes and took a total of 20 minutes to cut three iron rods, Sathiaseelan was quoted as saying.
He was sent to the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah emergency unit to have the rod removed from his arm.
