Irishman missing in Kuala Lumpur since January 1, last seen in KLCC area

The mother of a missing man has made an emotional plea on Facebook, asking for information pertaining to her son, who has been missing now for over three weeks.

Stephen Warde, 31 and from County Galway, Ireland, had been living in Kuala Lumpur since November of last year, and his family have said that his disappearance is extremely out of character.

His last known whereabouts were in and around the Petronas Twin Towers, in the KLCC area of the city.

Described as measuring 5’11”, with brown hair and eyes, along with a heavy build, his mother, Mary Morrissey, has described him as a “placid and quiet” man, making his sudden disappearance even more worrying.

Ms. Morrissey has asked for social media users to share his photo, should they recognize him. Her post has since been shared over 23,000 times since it was written last Sunday.

Stephen’s family are working with the Irish Department of Foreign affairs, and consular officials, in order to locate him.

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact Mary via WhatsApp at +601162212631.
