Husband stabs suspected rapist in the back

A suspected rapist got his just deserts when the husband of his victim stabbed him in the back with a knife while he was trying to escape, reports The Star Online.

According to the report, the man reportedly sneaked into a foreign workers’ hostel in Batu Pahat and pulled a woman into a room on Sunday.

The suspect then allegedly raped the 30-year-old woman.

The victim’s husband and younger brother, who had just returned from work at 2pm, reportedly caught the suspect in the act.

Startled, the suspect tried to escape from the husband and the younger brother.

“A struggle ensued and the husband grabbed a knife from the kitchen before stabbing the suspect in the back,” Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Wahib Musa was quoted by the news portal as saying.

However, the suspect managed to escape despite being stabbed.

ACP Abdul Wahid told The Star that the police immediately launched a manhunt upon being alerted of the incident.

The police managed to arrest the suspect at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital after he reportedly showed up to seek medical attention at 1.45am on Monday.

ACP Abdul Wahid added that initial investigations revealed that the 22-year-old suspect is unemployed.

The case is reportedly being investigated for rape.
