Malaysian social media users have been getting burned by a husband and wife team promising quick and lucrative returns on investments through Facebook.
One 29-year old scam victim, who identified herself as Zyura to Harian Metro‘s Fardy Bungga, said she was made aware of the couple’s generous investment packages through her FB Messages inbox.
Despite being initially skeptical of the scheme, Zyura nevertheless chipped in RM100 into the couple’s bank account – and was rewarded with RM300 in returns after a week. That got her hooked.
“I topped up my investments to up to RM1,650, in the hope that I could make even more after the week-long investment period.”
She never got her money back.
