The hunt continues: INTERPOL called in to arrest ‘sex blogger’ Alvin Tan

Looks like Inspectr-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar wasn’t kidding when he said the PDRM would leave no stone unturned in hunting down notorious ‘sex blogger’ and unrepentant troll Alvin Tan.

The Royal Malaysian Police have called on the assistance of the International Police (INTERPOL) to be on the lookout for Tan, who is currently a fugitive running free on a bail violation, and is believed to be in the United States.

“We will ask INTERPOL to track him (Tan) down. Every country has its own set of laws, and we will not rest until we have him in custody,” Khalid told Harian Metro‘s Gaddafi Musli and Yusmawati Mhd Yusof.

Tan has been on the run since the Sessions Court allowed him temporary use of his passport to travel to Singapore with the intention of filming a documentary about his experiences. When he did not return from Singapore, the Sessions Court issued an arrest warrant for Tan on June 13.

Due to his escape from the authorities, the bail posted on his behalf by his mother and cousin amounting to RM20,000 has been forfeited by the court.

While on the lam, Tan has been posting regularly to his Facebook page, poking fun at Malaysian leaders (including the IGP) and spouting anti-UMNO and BN sentiments.

It wa also through his Facebook account that Tan announced he had successfully made his way to California in the States, and that he planned to apply for political asylum in the US.
