Humans of New York: now in Mandarin flavor (#nooranges)

If you’re a fan of photography, New York City, heartwarming stories, or heartwarming photostories set in New York City, you’re probably familiar with Humans of New York, the massively popular online photo project run by Brandon Stanton that has sparked off a global movement of city-based portrait series (see here, here, here, and here) and a bestselling book.

It’s a fairly simple idea that has exploded onto the world’s consciousness, so much so that even on online social networks where English isn’t the lingua franca, HONY is adored by hordes of fans. Due to one such instance of the project goign viral on Chinese social media, Stanton has decided to port HONY to Mandarin-language Facebook/Twitter analogue Weibo for his all his Chinese-literate fans. Time to share the gift of HONY to that Mandarin-exclusive friend/relative/co-worker – brighten up their day just a smidge!
