Gruesome discovery in Malacca this week: fragments of a human skeleton were discovered near a slaughter house in Ayer Keroh on Wednesday, believed to be that of a man aged between 20 and 30 years.
Bernama reports that the slaughter house was part of the Veterinary Department.
Central Melaka Police chief ACP Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah was quoted as saying that 70 per cent of the man’s skeleton has been recovered at 3.30pm yesterday; the skull, rib and legs.
“We received information from the public and rushed to the scene, assisted by the police forensic unit and hospital forensic unit,” he told reporters at the scene.
“We also found a piece of jeans and shirt. But it is not confirmed whether it has any relation to the skeleton. In the meantime, police have classified the case as sudden death,” he was quoted further.
The remains have reportedly been there for at least one month, and was found to have been scattered across the area.
Those who wish to contact the police about a missing family member or loved one can do so by calling Inspector Chin Mui Chu at 019-6233410 or the police station.
