During festive seasons in Malaysia, like Eid, Chinese New Year or Deepavali, it’s common to see shopping malls go all out with elaborate decorations.

Let’s just say that Malaysians are quite used to this, and foreigners? Maybe not.

Recently, TikTok user @nicolecrewe shared how amazed she was at a shopping mall’s Chinese New Year decorations.

@nicolecrewe I feel like this can be only seen in Malaysia. 🥰 Love the shopping mall decorations! #malaysia #malaysiatiktok #travel #traveltiktok #fyp #foryoupage #foryou ♬ original sound – Nicole

In the video, she can be heard saying: “I have never seen anything like this in my life, like a shopping center putting so much effort for a festival?”

She also showed the elaborated CNY decoration which featured a dummy bridge that overlooked a canal and a gondola.

“I think this can only be seen in Malaysia. Love the decorations in the mall,” she wrote.

Other TikTok users were quick to point out the multiculturalism that Malaysia celebrates.

The TikTok video has since gained more than 30,000 likes and over 500 comments.

Wait till she sees even more OTT decorations around town.
