A teenager who tried to cross a railway track near Jitra, Kedah, was killed instantly after he was hit by an Electric Train Service (ETS) train on Sunday.
Bernama reports that the boy — Mohd Afendy Aziz — was trying to get across to a shop when the oncoming train — travelling from Padang Besar to KL Sentral — crashed into him around 4.30pm.
Kubang Pasu district police chief Supt Abd Rahim Abdullah was quoted as saying that parts of his body were scattered as far as one kilometre from the impact spot.
“The train stopped for a while after incident but since there were passengers on board, the train continued it journey. The victim’s house is next to the railway tracks,” he said in a statement.
The body was sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for post mortem.
