Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd has announced that it will recall 87,182 of its cars as the company conducts a global recall to fix its faulty airbags.
The carmaker said in a statement that it will recall 87,182 units to replace the airbag inflators on the driver and passenger sides, the Malay Mail Online reports.
The units are: Honda City (made from 2003 to 2008), Civic (2003 to 2008), CR-V (2002 to 2007), Jazz (2004 to 2006) and Stream (2004 to 2005).
“Honda Malaysia deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to all affected customers. The precautionary efforts do not affect Honda’s current selling models,” it said.
Six deaths, including one in Malaysia, have been linked to the faulty Takata airbags in Honda vehicles.
