Honda Malaysia issues recall for more than 147,000 vehicles

Honda Malaysia has issued a recall for 147,894 units of its vehicles made between 2003 and 2011 to replace the front passenger airbag inflator.

Vehicle models involved in this recall are: Accord (2003-2011 year of manufacture), City (2009-2011), Civic (2007-2011), CR-V (2008-2011), Freed (2009-2011 YM), Insight (2011 YM), Jazz (2009-2011 YM) and Odyssey (2004-2008 YM).

“Honda Malaysia assures customers that safety is the company’s priority. The company regrets the inconvenience caused,” the company said, as reported by The Star Online.

It added that the models currently selling are not affected in the recall. 

Customers will be sent a notification letter, Honda said, which will include details of the recall. Parts and labour charges involved in the recall will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
