Cool. Now let’s all relax, be happy no one was hurt, and find out just how this building went up in smoke in the first place.
Social media users were quick to share videos and photographs of dramatic plumes of smoke coming from the Employees Provident Fund building on Jalan Gasing this morning. Millions of Malaysians pay a portion of their monthly paycheck towards the fund, which can be cashed out at a later day, though many wait until retirement to do so.
The cause of the fire, and extent of the damage done to the landmark building, are unknown at this time. However, officials say that the blaze is currently under control.
Cue: A thousand jokes of your money being on fire. Plot twist: There’s probably none left #millennialdoomsday JOKES. JOKES. JOKES
