Hiking hotspot Broga Hill burned down

Popular hiking attraction and local Semenyih landmark Broga Hill was hit by a forest fire yesterday afternoon, leaving much of its covering of thickets in ashes.

Assistant director of operations for the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Mohd Sani Harul confirmed the matter to Siakapkeli, saying that his officers received an emergency call about the fire at 4.44pm yesterday.

He added that his department sent down two teams from the Semenyih and Kajang fire stations, totalling 11 crew members and one officer.

The fire was finally put out late last night, after it had already laid waste to much of the vegetation covering the hill.
