Helicopter makes emergency landing in Cameron Highlands due to bad weather

An emergency landing was made by a helicopter in Tanah Rata in Cameron Highlands today. Onboard were its pilot and five passengers, all of whom were medical officers.

The incident which occured at around 1:00 pm today did not report any injuries except for one victim who suffered minor wounds. The emergency landing was apparently due to bad weather. 

According to Perak police head Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, the victims were able to get in touch with the search and rescue team while waiting to be rescued. 

“Based on initial information, the helicopter got stuck in the forest during the emergency landing. However, the victims are safe, with one having non-serious injuries,” he told Getaran news portal.

“Their exact location has yet to be determined but the search-and-rescue team has been deployed.”

The helicopter was headed to Ipoh from Lojing, Kelantan.
