Visitors and residents on Penang Island are getting a genuine treat from MyTeksi all through March, as the popular online cab-booking service will be offering taxi rides at a flat rate of only RM5 – throughout the entire island.
That’s right. You can hop into a MyTeksi cab on Jalan Gurney, head out to Tanjung Bungah and Batu Feringghi’s gorgeous beaches, loop back to Komtar, and get out at Jalan Gurney again, and the entire ride will just set you back five bucks.
The promotion applies 24 hours a day, so you can take a (seriously cheap) scenic drive around the island even at the most ungodly of hours.
MyTeksi Penang city manager Loh Ji Yuan told The Star Online‘s Winnie Yeoh that the promotion will go on until March 31.
“We want to change the perception of the public that Penang’s taxi drivers are rude or tend to overcharge,” he said.
“We launch this promotion to regain the trust of the public.”
