After yesterday’s alarming readings, the haze situation in the Klang Valley seems to be levelling off, but two locations in Sarawak are still registering unhealthy air pollution index (API) levels.
By noon today, the Department of Environment (DoE) identified Sibu and Sri Aman in Sarawak recording API scores of 135 and 101 respectively, according to Bernama.
One rung under those two locations, 19 other places in Malaysia recorded moderately unhealthy API scores, including Port Klang with 80 and Petaling Jaya with 63.
This is a marked improvement over yesterday’s scores of 105 for PJ and 123 for Cheras.
An API reading between 0 to 50 is good; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and above 301, hazardous.
