The crackdown on unIslamic behaviour throughout the country continues, with Terengganu’s religious authority now moving to nab unmarried couples who share the same motorcycle.
The Terengganu Islamic and Malay Heritage Council (Maidam) is keeping a keen eye out for public indecency in the state, which includes those of the opposite sex with no familial ties (non-muhrim) sharing motorcycle rides, women wearing revealing clothes, and men who wear women’s clothes.
The Rakyat Post reports that Terengganu Syariah enforcement chief Mokhtar Salleh confirmed that Maidam would cooperate with local police and the Road Transport Department to detect and act on offenders.
