A 76-year-old grandmother was brutally murdered with her head decapitated and limbs severed at her home in Kota Tinggi on Tuesday.
According to a report by The News Straits Times, Maimon Abdul Samad’s body was found underneath a kitchen sink, with her decapitated head reportedly found at the entrance of her house.
District police chief Superintendent Rahmat Othman told the daily that both her hands were severed and her legs were slashed.
The police reportedly found a 17cm-long knife, believed to be the murder weapon, in a flower pot outside the house.
The alleged killer, a 19-year-old man believed to be Maimon’s relative and mentally unstable, was arrested by the police two hours after he reportedly fled to a nearby oil plantation after committing the crime.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
