What was supposed to be a happy period for a soon-to-wed couple turned tragic when the groom died after falling from a hotel in Thailand some two weeks before their wedding ceremony.
Noor Hafizah Yahya, 22, told Kosmo! in a report cited by The Star Online that her fiance, Muhammad Amirul Rais Khalid, 24, had gone to Danok to do some some last minute shopping for their wedding last Saturday.
However, as fate would have it, Muhammad Amirul reportedly fell from the eighth floor of the hotel on Sunday morning.
Muhammad Amirul was reportedly rushed to the Hatyai Hospital before being transferred back to the Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar, Kedah later in the evening.
He subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
Noor Hafizah told the Malay daily that all the preparations were set for the December 10 wedding, and the invitation cards have been sent out.
“I last saw him on Friday when he brought a cake to my house for us to eat together,” she said.
“I might have to change my solemnisation day to a tahlil ceremony now,” she was quoted by the daily as saying.
