Grisly Sepang car accident claims the life of Air Asia staff after divider impales car

A horrific car accident near Nilai, about an hour outside of Kuala Lumpur, claimed the life on an Air Asia employee early yesterday morning.

Airline technician G. Vickneswaran was traveling at kilometer 1.5 of the Jalan Nilai Salak Tinggi–Bukit Changgang highway when his Proton Saga hit the divider. He is believed to have lost control of his vehicle at 7:12am, in cloudy conditions and with a wet road. However, police have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The images from the scene speak volumes to the graphic nature of the crash: the road divider inexplicably defied logic by perforating the car through both the front windscreen, and the back window.

Police have yet to clarify exactly what happened, and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim’s body has been sent to Putrajaya Hospital for a postmortem examination.

May the victim rest in peace, and to all of the drivers out there – stay safe, drive cautiously in difficult weather, and never text and drive.
