A pub customer was very lucky to escape with his life when a grenade thrown into the pub hit his head before exploding.
According to a report by China Press, as translated by Free Malaysia Today, the man was reportedly sitting outside the pub with his 30-year-old wife when the grenade struck him on the head.
“The grenade hit me on the head before falling to the ground, expelling smoke and then exploding,” the man told the Chinese daily.
The 29-year-old man also told the daily that he did not know from which direction the grenade came from as it happened very quickly.
“It all happened within the blink of an eye, from the second the grenade hit my head until it exploded. The explosion rendered me unconscious.
“When I woke up, I found myself lying on a hospital bed and injured in several parts of my body,” he was quoted as saying.
According to the report, the man his wife are currently being treated at the Serdang Hospital and are reportedly in stable condition.
On Tuesday, an explosion rocked a nightspot in IOI Boulevard at around 2.15am while patrons were watching a Euro 2016 football match, leaving eight people injured. The police are currently investigating the motive behind the blasting, including a possible terrorist attack.
