A university student was the victim of daylight theft at Sunway Pyramid mall, after a gang of criminals sprayed him with hand lotion, forcing him to clean it up in a nearby bathroom, and subsequently stealing his bag. Inside was recently changed money, as well as a laptop.

Simple, yet effective.
According to his Facebook post, Daniel Muk was at Sunway Pyramid mall on Friday February 2nd running errands, which including changing Malaysian Ringgit into foreign currency for an upcoming trip.
After changing the cash on the lower ground mezzanine, he put the cash in his backpack, and continued running the few errands that he had to do in the mall. While walking, he writes that he “felt a slob of cream smothered all over [his] back on [his] right side.”
The cream was white, and managed to cover his arm, shirt, jeans, and backpack. Firstly, EW. Second, NASTY. We feel your disgust, bro.

Turning around to see where the sudden cream stream had come from, he only saw a group of young girls who were unaware of the lotion attack. He then looked for the nearest toilet to clean the damn mess up.
When in the bathroom, he proceeded to wipe the mess, and set his bag at his feet. Aware that this was his fatal mistake that afternoon, he writes: “I get it, this was a mistake.”
Reaching for a roll of tissues, a man suddenly appeared and offered to help. Unable to speak neither English nor Malay, he put himself between Daniel and the roll of tissues, despite the fact that the victim rejected his offer for help.
Taking the tissue, the foreign man started to slowly unravel the tissue, making large movements intended to distract the victim.
Daniel writes that he is now aware that this was done to distract him while two other men entered the loo, and quickly absconded with his bag.
Inside: not just the money, and laptop but “priceless debate notes” that were surely pearls before swine once in the suspects’ hands. Again, we feel you, Daniel – there is nothing worse than lost work, other than uh … lost money and laptop, tbh.
Realizing what had happened, he rushed after them into the mall, but when he got outside, they were nowhere to be found. Going back to the loo to look for the man who was the ruse, he discovered that he too had disappeared.
Mall security officials, while empathetic, were little help as there was no CCTV near the scene of the crime to capture the suspects. He also wrote that he is somewhat skeptical of this rationale, as Sunway Pyramid famously boasts of extensive mall CCTV coverage.
In conclusion, he reminds his followers, and eventually the thousands of netizens that read, and shared, his post to stay on our toes – these foul thieves have no shame, and will literally ambush you with hand lotion.
TL;DR – keep your goods on you at all times, and maybe carry wet wipes? Never hurts!
