The Great Escape: Inmate disappears on the way to investigation site

We’re not even mad, we are pretty impressed!

An inmate managed to pull a Houdini on the police while he was being taken to an investigation site on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a news report by Bernama, the Cambodian national — arrested in connection with a theft case — was reportedly being taken from the lock-up to an investigation location at Sungai Kampung Teluk in Pulau Rusa when he pulled the daring escape.

District police chief DSP Amran Sidek told the news agency that 36-year-old Idris Mohd Ali managed to slip away when the police were not paying attention to him.

“The suspect also has no identification documents,” DSP Amran was quoted as saying.

He added that the suspect is of stout built, stands at 1.7 metres tall, has a tanned complexion with short hair.

Those who happen to cross path with the suspect or has any information on his whereabouts are urged to contact the Pekan police headquarters operations room at 09-4221222 or investigating officer Inspector Noraziani at 012-6179703.
