Good cop, bad cop: Major plot-twist in cyber cafe robbery incident

This is a classic case of good cop, bad cop (although this man is an extremely bad cop).

A 55-year-old man was arrested after he robbed and attempted to murder a cyber cafe owner in Sri Petaling.

As it turns out, the suspect is actually a policeman.

According to The New Straits Times, the incident happened on Saturday when the man, a Lance Corporal attached with the Commercial Crime Department at the Shah Alam police station, allegedly held up the owner of the cybe rcafe at around 7am.

The suspect allegedly held the owner at gunpoint and he fled after the owner handed over RM2,000 in cash.

“However, the 31-year-old victim gave chase to the suspect until they reached a nearby restaurant.

“It was there that the suspect fired a shot at the victim before getting away,” Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Sharul Othman Mansor told the daily.

ACP Sharul added that the police managed to track down the Lance Corporal and arrested him just 350 meters away from the cyber cafe.

The police reportedly seized a Sig Sauer handgun and RM2,000 from the suspect, ACP Sharul told the daily.

The victim, meanwhile, suffered a flesh wound after the bullet reportedly grazed his chest.
