Another week, another ‘stuck-in-escalator’ story.
This time, a girl’s left hand was caught in an escalator during a shopping trip with her family at a supermarket in Ayer Keroh, Malacca on Wednesday.
According to The Star Online, in the 10pm incident, Fire and Rescue Department personnel took around five minutes to remove her hand that was caught at one end of the escalator.
Thankfully, the girl wasn’t seriously hurt and she was reportedly rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.
This was the third such case this month involving toddlers.
Earlier this month, a three-year-old boy reportedly got his genitals caught between the steps of an escalator at a shopping centre in Bagan Serai, Perak. More recently, a two-year-old boy’s left hand was trapped in an escalator at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
