Girl alleges repeated rape, sexual assault on Pulau Tioman

The police are investigating a claim that a girl was repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted by five men and a woman on Pulau Tioman, reported Sin Chew Daily and translated by The Star Online.

According to the Chinese daily, the assaults reportedly took place between March and May this year after the 17-year-old girl started working part time at the Kampung Tekek jetty.

The girl claimed at a press conference on Thursday that she became semi-conscious after drinking a beverage given by a security guard at 4pm on March 17.

She was then repeatedly raped by four people at the jetty toilet and the Customs office until the next day. One of the alleged rapists, according to the girl, was a Customs staff member.

The girl claimed that she was threatened with termination and jail if she told anyone about the incident or make a police report.

But that was not the end of her ordeal; on May 7, the girl also claimed that she was raped by her neighbour’s brother when she went to their house.

The girl alleged that the female neighbour sexually assaulted her and took nude pictures and video of her, which were then uploaded on the Internet. The woman’s brother then reportedly got into the act.

The girl was finally coaxed into lodging a police report by her father, who only wanted to be known as Wei, after the girl’s teacher informed him of her ordeal on May 19.

Rompin OCPD Deputy Supt Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah told Sin Chew Daily that six people, including a woman, were detained for investigations.

“We are still waiting for some medical and analysis reports,” he was quoted as saying.
