The eight-year-old girl who was critically injured in a shooting at Taman OUG a couple of days ago will reportedly undergo a second surgery.
According to a news report by The Star Online, the second surgery will be carried out to remove a bullet slug lodged in her liver.
The girl is said to be in a critical but stable condition at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
On Wednesday, the girl’s mother, a 32-year-old real estate agent, was shot to death at close range by two gunmen on a motorcycle while she was driving her MPV in Taman OUG.
The suspects reportedly fired five shots at the vehicle, one of which hit the woman in the neck. A stray bullet hit her daughter, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating the shooting and are not ruling out any angles in their investigations.
