A five-year-old child, who was reportedly left alone at home, fell four floors from her family’s shophouse in Beaufort, Sabah yesterday.
The Star Online‘s Stephanie Lee reports that the little girl, Farishya Miasara Agus, had gone out to play while waiting for her 19-year-old brother to return along with their other siblings.
Farishya was believed to have climbed atop a plastic chair and tried to squeeze through a window grill to get out, Beaufort district police chief Deputy Supt Azmir Abd Razak said.
She slipped and fell four floors sometime around 12.30pm.
“She was rushed to the hospital but it was too late. She died of severe brain damage,” the news site quoted him as saying.
The girl’s father reportedly worked on the ground floor while her mother worked at the nearby market.
