When a snake learns how to climb a building, that’s a very good sign to flee your home.
That was what residents at the Taman Pauh Jaya flats in Bukit Mertajam did when they spotted a cobra slithering out of a unit’s window on Monday.
According to a report by The Star Online, a couple of residents spotted the two-meter cobra slithering out of a window of a flat unit on the third floor and they quickly alerted the other residents.
As the residents gathered at the courtyard to watch, the snake was seen trying to ‘break into’ a flat unit on the second floor.
“We could see the two-metre snake looking for a way back into a unit on the third floor.
“We began calling people to get out of their flats. Everyone gathered to wait for experts to catch the snake,” businessman Shaharudin Ahmad, 46, told the news portal.
Eventually, a snake charmer was reportedly called in to tame the slithery reptile.
“We contacted a snake charmer. He caught the snake and took it away in a gunny sack,” Shaharudin was quoted as saying.
