A bus accident which occured in Genting Highlands on Tuesday evening killed one person and injured 15 others.
Bentong District police chief Superintendent Mohamad Mansor Mohd told The New Straits Times that the tourist bus – with 27 Mainland Chinese passengers on board – was making its way down from the resort when the accident occured near the first checkpoint at around 7pm.
The bus driver was reportedly killed in the accident.
“His body is still pinned to the seat. Efforts are ongoing to extricate his body from the vehicle,” Mohamad Mansor was quoted as saying.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson based in Genting Highlands told the daily that the 15 passengers who were injured in the accident were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment. The remaining passengers were reportedly brought back to their hotel.
