Free LRT rides for KL Marathon 2016 participants

If you’re taking part in the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2016 this Sunday, you can grab a free LRT and Monorail ride starting from 2am till 6am.

Lim Jin Aun, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd’s Head of Group Communications and Strategic Marketing, said in a statement reported by The New Straits Times that the free services will cover all of Prasarana’s RapidKL line.

However, Lim noted that the free entry is limited to only a few selected stations.

“Participants and officials are encouraged to park their cars at the stations and travel by rail to Dataran Merdeka.

“After 6am, services will be chargeable as per normal rates,” Lim said in the statement.

You can head over to these stations if you wanna grab a free ride:

  • KL Monorail – all stations
  • LRT Ampang Line – Ampang, Pandan Indah, Chan Sow Lin
  • LRT Kelana Jaya – Masjid Jamek, Gombak, Wangsa Maju, Setiwangsa, Jelatek, KL Sentral, Taman Jaya, Kelana Jaya, Glemarie, USJ 21
  • LRT Sri Petaling – Chan Sow Lin, Badar Tasik Selatan, Awan Besar, IOI Puchong Besar, Putra Heights, Sentul Timur, Sentul, Titiwangsa, Masjid Jamek, Hang Tuah, Pudu

On Sunday, a total of twenty four roads, including two highways, will be closed either partially or fully to make way for the marathon, so yeah, grabbing a free LRT ride is a smart idea.
