Fowl play: Malaysian woman’s love for raw chicken liver takes the internet by storm (and disgust)

A Malaysian woman recently shocked the internet when she shared a video of herself indulging in a rather unconventional delicacy: raw chicken liver.

In the short 20-second clip, the woman, who goes by the username @mummybiey, can be seen enthusiastically consuming a chunk of raw chicken liver straight from a bowl.

During the video, @mummybiey expresses her love for raw chicken liver, insisting that it tastes better than cooked chicken liver.

She then proceeds to put a sizable piece of the raw liver into her mouth, which she visibly enjoys, as she can be seen giving a thumbs up to the camera.

Since being posted, the video has garnered a significant amount of attention, amassing over 361.7k views at the time of writing. However, not all viewers have been receptive to the woman’s unorthodox eating habits, with many expressing confusion and disgust in the video’s comments section.

Some viewers have also questioned how @mummybiey is able to stomach the smell of raw chicken, which can be notoriously pungent.

She was even called out for being possessed by a ‘saka’ (imagine having a heirloom – but it’s a demon, that’s what a ‘saka’ basically is) by a viewer.

When asked if her video was a joke, @mummybiey was quick to clarify that she was serious about her love for raw chicken liver, stating that it is “really delicious.”

Eating raw chicken is not unheard of – but it is certainly not a widespread practice. Torisashi or chicken sashimi is served in some eateries in Japan.

It is worth noting that it is not inherently dangerous, as long as the liver is sourced from a healthy chicken and properly prepared.

However, it is generally recommended that chicken liver be cooked thoroughly to eliminate any potential health risks.
